Zilla Parishad is the apex tier of the Panchayati Raj system at district level, coordinating rural-development planning, programme implementation and public accountability across Malkangiri.

Zilla Parishad, Malkangiri works under the Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department, Government of Odisha. It connects district-level planning and administration with seven Panchayat Samitis and 111 Gram Panchayats.
